The SIMCO perforation detector SDVP is used to detect perforations in webs, for example during the manufacture of plastic bags-on-reel. The output voltage of the detector is adjustable from 2-18 kV. The high voltage electrode EL-10 is connected to the perforation detector. The high voltage electrode is mounted above the web opposite an earth electrode. If a spark-over occurs from the high voltage electrode to the earth electrode via a perforation in the web, this will be detected by the perforation detector and reported as an opto coupler output signal, lasting 30 ms. This signal can activate a counter or a PLC. The maximum detection output rate is 15 times per second.
The green "HV level" LEDs provide an indication of the high-voltage setting. The yellow "COUNT CONTROL" LED lights up as soon as a perforation is detected. The red LED comes on if the high voltage is set too high.
Applications: - Manufacturing Plastic Bags-on-reel
- Leak detection in Bottle caps
- Leak detection in plastic bottles
